Our Pastoral Care (or Guidance) system is a year system with Tutors and Heads of Year proceeding through the school with their pupils. The tutor plays a very important role in this system, being the member of staff with the most immediate contact with the pupil, and often acting as the "bridge" between school and home. The general day-to-day management of the tutor group, the unit for daily registration and Pastoral Care, is the responsibility of the tutor, a member of the teaching staff.

The Head of Year has overall responsibility for all pupils and staff within the year group. The school will endeavour, with the support of the parents, to encourage and guide each pupil to achieve his or her maximum potential, and to this end one of its main aims will be to make school a happy and successful place for all pupils.
