Computing, Enterprise & iMedia

We aim to provide a high-quality computing education which equips pupils to use computational thinking and creativity to understand and change the world. The curriculars help pupils understand and apply fundamental principles and concepts of computer science. It allows pupils to analyse problems in computational terms and practise writing programs in order to solve such problems. We aim to ensure pupils are digitally literate, able to develop their ideas and express themselves whilst becoming responsible, competent and creative users of information and communication technology.

DEEP Curriculum Overview

In Year 7-9, in line with our DEEP curriculum, pupils develop a range of key skills. In Year 7, pupils develop this use of Office skills before building their understanding of how computers work. Pupils then develop their programming and editing skills. At GCSE, in computing, pupils DEEPEN their skills in programming and computer networks. Pupils studying Vocational iMedia explore game or website design and their DEEPEN their practical applications in real world scenarios. For those studying Vocational Enterprise and Marketing, gives pupils practical skills and applied knowledge they’ll need in business. Practical elements build on theoretical knowledge so that students can put their learning into practice while also developing valuable transferable skills.
