Drama

The drama curriculum shows ambition for all and explores a wide range of key skills and techniques that focus on developing pupils’ confidence, communication, creativity and collaborative abilities. These essential skills are embedded throughout the five-year curriculum, enabling students to flourish as performers, creators and critical thinkers.

Through exploration of script work, devising, performance and evaluation, pupils develop their understanding of theatrical conventions and performance techniques while learning to express ideas effectively. As they progress through the curriculum, students will develop their leadership skills that support both their artistic development and wider personal growth.

At Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, pupils will also have the opportunity to visit a working theatre, gaining insight into the theatre industry while exploring a range of performance, creative and technical career pathways.
