LRC (Learning Resource Centre)

The Learning Resource Centre is more than just a library, although it does contain more than 10,000 books. It exists to contribute to the overall academic and wider pastoral growth of all pupils in the academy. It provides an enormous range of effective resources, which support and enhance the learning, career and leisure interests of our pupils. Pupils may borrow books and resources for two weeks. They may ask for their loan to be renewed, if they wish, to keep a resource for a longer period.

The LRC is open to pupils each morning before school from 08:00am, breaks, lunchtimes and homework club, after school until 16:00 Monday – Thursday and 15:30 on Fridays. During these times pupils are able to use the LRC’s computers for private study.

The LRC offers pupils the opportunity to be involved in the running of the library as student librarians. We run book groups and facilitate author events throughout the academic year.
